Mirza Mahdi Farashbashi Boutique Hotel is a 4-star accommodation located in the Sorkhab neighborhood of Tabriz, within one of the city’s most historically significant areas. The building itself is a registered national heritage site, dating back to the Qajar dynasty, and was originally owned by Mirza Mahdi Farashbashi, the son-in-law of Mozaffar ad-Din Shah. Its detailed architecture and original layout have been carefully preserved, making it one of the most recognizable historical houses in the city.
This house, covering 1,400 square meters, features traditional architectural elements such as inner and outer courtyards, a basement, traditional bathhouse, central pool (hozeh), kitchen, ornamental stucco, and uniquely shaped rooms with high ceilings and decorative arches. It was listed as a national cultural property on August 10, 2000.
After a major renovation that began in 2013, the mansion reopened in 2023 as a boutique hotel, restaurant, and cafe-gallery with support from the private sector. Today, it offers modern hospitality while maintaining its historic structure and features.
The mansion’s design includes classic Persian decorative arts. Highlights include mirrorwork ceilings, detailed stucco, original Qajar doors and windows, and arched walls and domes. These design elements make the building visually distinct and historically significant.
The hotel has two floors and six rooms, all restored and outfitted with essential comforts. The building’s original layout remains intact, allowing guests to experience authentic residential architecture from the late Qajar period.
Farashbashi Boutique Hotel is located just outside the city’s traffic-restricted zone, giving travelers easier access to the rest of the city by car or taxi. Within walking or short driving distance, guests can visit popular landmarks such as:
Maqbarat-o-Sho'ara (Poets' Mausoleum)
Qajar Museum
Azerbaijan Museum
Blue Mosque
Arg-e Ali Shah
El Goli Park
Tabriz Grand Bazaar
The hotel is approximately 12 minutes by car from Tabriz International Airport, the train station, and the intercity bus terminal.
The on-site restaurant serves Iranian and traditional dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and has a capacity of 120 guests. A complimentary breakfast is included with every stay.
Guests can also enjoy drinks and light snacks in the indoor cafe or relax in the open-air rooftop coffee space, especially popular in the evening.
