We can have this tour almost every day and we should start it early in the morning at about 7:00. Please note that visiting the cave in winter is not recommended as we will wake the bats up and if they cannot sleep well during the winter, they may die before spring.
Leaving Tehran behind, we will move eastwards to Rood Afsahn village in Damavand County. Walking through the village, we will need to climb and descend a mountain to arrive at the entrance of the cave. In the cave, after passing a slope, we will arrive at the first hall. This hall is the last place that the sun illuminates. Here, we need to turn on our headlights or torches. Moving forward, we will reach the second hall. Here we can see two anticlines. Arriving at the third hall, we will see many stalactites and stalagmites. Moving through the cave, we will see a corridor with a crypt at its end. There is a pond and a column in the crypt and it is called Anahita Hall/Temple. We will arrive at the end of the cave walking 160 more meters. The main route of the cave is almost 800 meters long altogether. To go to the end of the cave, we must have caving equipment, otherwise, we can only visit the first parts of the cave.
Please note that in this tour, participants must wear appropriate trekking/hiking shoes and have a headlight, some food, and water with them.
